The Support Unit's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Panel has been established and is open for business. On 15 October 2019, an orientation workshop was held to the familiarise panel members with the Climate Partnership's MEL arrangements and tools that they will be supporting. This includes an Integration Snapshot Tool which is being used to assess the extent to which climate and disaster considerations have been integrated within sampled aid investments, and the Climate Change Capacity Assessment Tool (or '3CAT') which fosters reflection about the merits of capacity development interventions employed within selected Pacific aid investments. The panel is also available to assist DFAT posts and implementing partners to better measure success in integrating climate change action and disaster risk reduction into sector-based investments across the program cycle - from scoping through design and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. The MEL panel will also be on hand to assist investment implementing teams to report against the Climate Partnership Performance Assessment Framework.
