Jeong Park and Paul Crawford hard at work in Suva – 2019 integration visit to Suva Post and implementation partners.

The Climate Partnership Support Unit travels often to Pacific Island countries to work with aid program managers and their implementation partners. This a core part of our integration practice – building relationships and trust, brokering knowledge and learning and providing access to skills and expertise needed to take account of climate and disaster risks and build resilience in every Australian aid program investment.

We are working with around 80 different programs across all aid investment sectors – infrastructure, energy, health, education and food and water security, offering climate and disaster integration support and advisory services. We know that access to good climate information is not the only barrier to successful integration, but, along with improving performance incentives, access to resources and timely specialist expertise, and clear strong messaging from the top, we are working hard to address all of the barriers and provide good practice examples and opportunities for program managers and partners to build resilience  and achieve great long lasting development impact on the ground.
