The Accelerating Climate Education (ACE) team from GIZ travelled with the Support Unit integration team to PNG (3-7 February 2020) and met with Australian aid program eduction managers and their implementation partners to identify needs within the programs for first class climate education materials. Through the education program, ACE will be working with a number of NGO partners to bring tailored climate education materials like booklets, posters, video and games to over 900 remote schools in rural areas of PNG. This will enable the NGOs to integrate climate change topics and themes in basic literacy and numeracy courses, building skills so children of today can participate in the solutions of the future.

The ACE team will accompany Support Unit visits to Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, Samoa and Tonga in the coming months to help the Support Unit bring much needed outstanding climate education resources to our education programs across the Pacific. Watch this space!

Thanks Nige for hosting us :)
